Mission

The current mission of The Free Market Center consists of establishing a resource that provides clear, concise descriptions of the free-market ideal within the current reality of market intervention.

There seems to be no limit to the number of resources describing “capitalism.” Some of those resources defend capitalism. Others try to outline the problems existing in capitalism. Unfortunately, of those resources, many are oversimplified or more technical than they need to be.

At The Free Market Center, I prefer to talk in terms of free markets rather than simply “capitalism.” I do that because capitalism represents a natural outgrowth of the far more important concept of free markets.

The concepts that provide the foundation for free markets are generally relatively simple and easily explained. The problem that exists with most descriptions of capitalism (free markets) consists of the fact that most markets do not operate free of intervention.
