The Federal Reserve System plays and important, but widely misunderstood role, in the U. S. Banking system.

With its nearly limitless capacity to purchase financial assets, The Federal Reserves has a tremendous on the U. S. Banking system, but it has limitations that arise from its own regulations and structural changes made over the last century.

Remember, The Fed does not create "Money" and it cannot control interest rates. I will explain in some of the articles linked below.
